Head Start and Child Care Providers Launch Initiative
“LESA Head Start, the Little Glads Center in Fowlerville, Koality Kare Child Kare in Howell and TLC and Friends in Hartland are collaborating to provide all-day , all-year Early Childhood Education and Care for children eligible for Head Start”. This project is funded through the Department of Health and Human Services to expand Head Start services to tamales in need of all day, all year child care. Children are enrolled in the local childcare programs and Head Start provides support services to the children, families and child care staff. Funds are used for staff training, enhancing the quality of the center by purchasing supplies and materials, paying for a portion of the child’s care and connecting families with community resources.
Families who have a child between the ages of 3-5 and are interested in these expanded services can call Ms. Angela DeGram at LESA Head Start.
